International Women’s Day is a global day (March 8) celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality. This year, the IWD theme was each for equal #EachforEqual. It is more than a hashtag. People recognize it’s not just a women’s issue, it’s a human rights issue.
