Installation and Process:

The Installation process is very simple. As it is a Managed Package, you can install it into your Salesforce Organization from AppExchange.

  1. Log into your Salesforce Org
  2. Go to AppExchange Marketplace
  3. Search for “Quip”
  4. Click on the “Quip Connect for Salesforce” from the result displayed
  5. Click on “Get It Now”
  6. Agree on the terms and Conditions given
  7. Click on “Download” then “Install” options

  1. Open the URL “https://quip.com”
  2. Click on “SIGN UP OR SIGN IN” button
  3. Select “Sign in with Salesforce” option
  4. Login with Salesforce “Username & Password”
  5. If the Site already exists, you can join along it or else you can create your own site. Now you’re in the Quip Site
  6. Navigate to Salesforce Organization and click the App Launcher icon and select “Open Reports in Quip”
  7. The list of reports which you created will display
  8. Select a report and click on “Open in Quip” option
  9. Here you are provided option to open the report as “Live Data” or as a “Spreadsheets”

You can sort the displayed data in ascending, descending or you can add a filter for each column and filter the data based on the criteriaFiltering Data based on condition:

Quip documents are cloud-based and easy to access from multiple devices which let your whole team live edit. Quip combines messages and documents into a single “thread”.

Quip documents encourage communication and collaboration. Using Quip, you can share your documents with other people on your team. Then you can collaborate on them in real time. People can add comments, highlights, edit at the same time and have chat conversations right inside the document.

You can also share your Quip document externally. It’s very easy to share Quip documents & spreadsheets with people who aren’t a part of your Quip site. You can also grab a quick shareable link to any Quip doc and send it to anyone you choose. You can even set different levels of permissions.

The conversation includes all the activity in the document: document edits, messages and who’s viewed your changes — everything that’s happened since the document was created. Staying up to date is easy. You just open the thread on any device and you can quickly edit and see the messages which you’ve last visited.

Document edits or “diffs” are one of the most unique features of Quip. Every time an edit is made to a document a “diff” is added to the thread, which visually tells you exactly what has been changed. When you’re checking in from your phone, “diffs” make it easy to stay up to date without re-reading the whole document.
